SOAR!

Success through Observer Action Results

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s...an ACRONYM! And not just any acronym, but one that can quite literally change your life: The Observer-Action-Results (OAR) model (Argyis, 1977) is a way to understand why we get stuck in less-than-effective patterns that produce less-than-ideal results. See this SOAR Applied Case Study for an example of how simple and straightforward use of this model can change your everyday results. The OAR model is a powerful platform for trust -- “the one thing that changes everything” (Stephen Covey). It’s the way we get unstuck. It’s also the way we realize how “good” is the enemy of “great”. This March, I’m co-facilitating an amazing 3-day "SOAR Executive Retreat" for HR directors, learning & development leaders, business owners, and executives who want to discover how application of the OAR model can revolutionize their organization, from the inside out. If this is you, please consider joining me there, or contact me for details on an upcoming conference call. Regardless of your position, consider this: What’s one area in which, despite all the things you’ve tried, you’re not getting the results you want? Notice the perspective from which you’ve been looking at this issue. How well is that perspective serving you?
